Le Weekend 2009, Stirling, May 29-31st.

We performed a minimal repetitive guitar piece in The Tolbooth. We also created an installation for an (absolutely wonderful) Victorian observatory close to the Tolbooth.

The installation was based on sounds generated from star observations and from the observatory itself. We worked in collaboration with Hungarian astrophysicist Zoltan Kollath to generate some sounds from star observations made by amateur astronomers. The sounds were processed, layered and edited in order to take advantage of the peculiar acoustic properties of the dome-shaped observatory. Further details can be found here.

We have worked with Stirling Astronomical Society in order to create the installation. We would like to thank the Society for their help (www.stirlingastronomicalsociety.org).
