"This exciting piece has never been performed in Scotland before, and will fill Tramway with sound for between four and five hours. This piece will involve a large number of musicians playing a diverse range of instruments, focusing on contemporary musical styles.

The music showcased will take inspiration from Cage's avant-garde experimentation, use of non-standard musical instruments and electronic music. Cage's compositions and performative body of work include the infamous silent composition 4'33', Water Walk (performed on radios, duck whistles, watering cans and pressure cookers) and Chance Music, composed using dice and the iChing in an attempt to remove the artistic personality from the composition process. The Musicircus event explores what happens when two or more distinct performances combine within a space to create a new musical experience."

This event is especially suitable for people of all ages. Tramway are billing it as family day but you don't need to bring yours in order to attend.
We are going to be using many small tape recorders to record and play short loops of the various things that are happening throughout the day. As a result, our involvement will last for the entirety of the event.
