Long+Wrong presents 4 Hours of Drone, Saturday 4 June 2011, 7:00pm, CCA, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. £4.00
“…there’s always something new going on when you let yourself experience a drone fully. La Monte Young argued that “tuning is a function of time” and that as you tune into the harmonics in a drone, you experience new aspects of it. Your own relationship to that continuous sound changes because second by second you are changing, physically and cognitively. At the same time though, when you relax into the sound, it can be ecstatic…” - Marcus boon, blog post at inpraiseofcopying.wordpress.com
Long+Wrong presents four hours of continuous drone music. Some of Scotland’s experimental musicians will demonstrate differing approaches to sonic continuity, stasis, and extended texture over four hours. Andreas Jönsson, Alistair Crosbie, Buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo, CK Dexter Haven, Neil Davidson, and Noma will perform separate and overlapping sets that will provide an extended opportunity to meditate on your experience of sound.
